At our waters edge one Afternoon ...a young bald eagle and salmon

(to the right )...This may be a Golden Eagle that wound up here in the North , but this 'reverse albino' eagle was basically black but did not have the white head and tail feathers. It was identical to our 'normal' Bald Eagles except for the coloring and I have never seen any other variety on the North Island.....but some people have seen Golden eagles here!
